Olbia airport by private jet
Private terminal, summer slots, 32 minutes from Porto Cervo.

Olbia Costa Smeralda is the airport of north-east Sardinia: this is where you land for Porto Cervo, Porto Rotondo and San Teodoro. It has a terminal for private flights and, in summer, a rule that weighs more than the aircraft: coordinating the times with the airport operator.

The private flights terminal

At Olbia private aviation has its own terminal: it is run by Eccelsa Aviation, wholly owned by the airport operator, Geasar. According to the 2026 Service Charter, ground handling works 24 hours a day, seven days a week, on a 10-hectare apron dedicated to private flights.

For you this means landing and leaving without going through the scheduled-flights terminal.

Summer times

In the summer season Olbia is a coordinated airport, level 3 for Assoclearance. General and business aviation operates only after coordination with Geasar, which issues the authorisations.

In the busy weeks the time you ask for may not be available: you choose among those that are left. This is why, in summer, the date and the time are fixed before the aircraft.

The runway

The runway is 05/23. In its release of 27 April 2021 Geasar announced the extension to 2,740 metres.

From Olbia, by road

Olbia town centre is 4 kilometres away. The Service Charter gives 32 minutes to Porto Cervo (SS125 and SP94), 21 minutes to San Teodoro on the SS131 and just over an hour to Nuoro and to Sassari. These are the operator's times, with no indication of summer traffic.

Questions we get

Is there a terminal for private flights at Olbia?
Yes. It is run by Eccelsa Aviation, a company of the operator Geasar: ground handling works 24 hours a day on a 10-hectare apron dedicated to private flights (2026 Service Charter).
Is Olbia a coordinated airport?
In summer, yes: level 3 for Assoclearance. General and business aviation operates only after coordination with the operator, which issues the authorisations.
How long is the runway at Olbia?
Runway 05/23 was extended to 2,740 metres, according to the operator's release of 27 April 2021.
How long does it take from Olbia to Porto Cervo?
The operator gives 32 minutes by road via the SS125 and the SP94. With August traffic it can take longer.
Can I continue by helicopter?
It depends on where you are going and on the date: in the Costa Smeralda the Porto Cervo heliport is suspended and the Porto Rotondo one is closed. The quote is built on a car with driver and the helicopter, where possible, is a separate line.
