Energy, industry and major construction sites

Right now Sardinia is laying
six billion in infrastructure.

The cable joining the island to Sicily, the gas network setting out from Cagliari and Oristano, the first floating wind farms off Portoscuso. These are sites that run for years and move engineers, works managers, inspectors, commissioning teams and technical committees — towards places that take a whole day to reach on scheduled flights. That day can come down to two hours.

Where the work is, and which airport gets you there

This is not a list of business opportunities: these are public, permitted works, running to their own timetable. We put them here because the question that reaches us is always the same — “which airport lands you nearest”.

The list is there to orient whoever writes to us: these are the sites open on the island and the handiest airport for each.

How an aircraft is used on a construction site

It is not a luxury: it is one cost line
that eats up three others.

A site standing still costs more than any flight. When a commissioning test slips because the engineer is stuck in an airport, the bill is not the ticket: it is the crews standing idle, the contractual penalty and the weather window lost.

The technical committee that flies in and flies back

Six or eight people, a day on site, home that evening. On scheduled flights that is two days and a night in a hotel for each of them — and with eight people the cost per head is often a surprise.

The specialist you need tomorrow

A breakdown standing there waiting for the one person who knows how to repair it. With an aircraft already in position you are airborne within hours: the urgent flight page explains how realistic that is and how much more it costs.

Shift changes on awkward sites

Crew changes on fixed dates, towards places where the road is long and the ferry does not wait. You plan them once and you repeat them: this is the kind of work you put under contract, not the kind you improvise.

The official visit

Openings, inspections, delegations, journalists. Tight timings, several stops in one day, and a diary that will not tolerate a missed connection.

Medical transport from the site

An accident on an isolated site, or a foreign worker to be taken home. It is arranged with specialist medical operators: that is the air ambulance page.

The link with head office

Milan, Rome, Madrid, Copenhagen, Geneva, the Gulf. The routes and the real times are on the routes page: Cagliari to Madrid is one hour fifty-four.

Where we are strong, up front

Our job is moving people, not loads

Engineers, site managers, inspectors, testing officers and technical committees: getting them to the site and home the same day is exactly what we know how to do, and at that we are among the fastest on the island. Aerial work — a helicopter lifting a pylon on a hook, or stringing a cable — is a different trade, with different machines and different licences: if that is what you need, tell us anyway and we will put you in touch with someone who does it well.

We are glad to pass on the contact: these are relationships we have kept for years, and they serve us as much as they serve you.

How we work with a company

One quote at a time,
or an agreement that lasts.

  • Single flight. Like anyone else: two cities, one date, and a price built on the route. No sign-up, no deposit.
  • Framework agreement. For anyone flying several times a year: written terms, fixed for twelve months, and your request read first. It is the Sardinia Club, and the discount falls on our intermediation fee, not on the cost of the flight.
  • Clean invoicing. Each item comes from whoever performs it, with its own VAT number: no single lump price, no bundled lines, everything reconcilable against the purchase order.
  • One point of contact. From the moment payment for your first flight is confirmed you have a personal, direct number, reachable twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week.
  • Confidentiality. If a non-disclosure agreement is needed before we even discuss your movements, we will be the first to sign it.

Tell us where the site is.
The airport is our job.

Even just to work out whether it is worth it: a twenty-minute phone call is enough to say whether an aircraft makes sense on your numbers, or whether you are better off as you are. If it is not worth it, we will be the first to tell you.
